This customer had just got a new puppy and, along with not having enough time to look after their lawn, they needed a more suitable area than their existing grass. Brendan Parfitt Carpentry & Property Maintenance suggested artificial grass and a decking.
Here are some before pictures (click on the images to view them bigger):
- Not enough time to cut the grass.
- Bare patch in the corner where there isn’t enough sunlight.
- The dog gets muddy when it’s wet.
Here are some more images to show how the job progressed to the finished article (click on the images to view them bigger):
Remove Old Turf
Firstly the old turf and top-soil was removed to allow for the agrigate, sand and new grass.
Build Frame for Decking
Then the frame was built ready for the new decking boards.
Prepare the Ground
The ground was levelled using an initial layer of aggregate and secondary layer of sand which were individually compacted.
Weed Membrane
The weed membrane is then put down on top of the aggregate and sand layers ready for the artificial grass. This will prevent any unwanted weeds or grasses growing up through the artificial grass over time.
…and we are done!
The artificial grass is then rolled out, cut to size and pinned down to secure it in place… and we are done.
